WELCOME

The International Consortium of Motor Development Research (ICOMDR) was created in 2014 as a way to bring together an international body of researchers at various points in their career and from a variety of countries and research backgrounds. Our purpose is to increase visibility and impact of Motor Development research over the next decade through meaningful collaborations.

The first assembly of the ICOMDR took place in Le Boulard, France (2015) with the intent of “revisioning” motor development research to improve global visibility and impact in the 21st century. Research groups from seven nations (Australia, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Germany, Portugal & the U.S.) attended and provided a rough blueprint for future global initiatives in motor development research. In November 2016, the 2nd ICoMDR assembly was hosted at the University of South Carolina and over 70 researchers from 12 countries participated.

It is our pleasure and honor to invite you to attend the 3rd assembly of the International Consortium of Motor Development Research (ICoMDR-III) November 9-11, 2017. The conference will be hosted by the School of Sports and Leisure of the Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (Escola Superior de Desporto e Lazer do Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo) in Melgaço, Portugal.
